Award winning comedian
and actor John Bishop will host the Royal Variety Performance 2013. The home of
British Variety and iconic venue the London Palladium will host this year’s
gala evening.
The show promises to be
an unforgettable evening of the best of UK and international musical
performers, extraordinary theatre, comedy and speciality acts as well as a
number of sensational surprises.
John said: “As
a child, the Royal Variety Show was like the Grand National and the FA cup
final - it was something our family always watched (the only difference being
that we didn't bet on the winner). To host a show with such heritage is
something I never imagined I would do and I trust my parents will be proud when
they take their seats in the audience, although I have told my dad not to shout
'come on son' ... It's not a match or a horse race!”
The very best of British
talent and an international galaxy of stars from around the world of
entertainment will appear on the show including:
Winners of Britain’s Got
Talent - Attraction, an exclusive performance from Gary Barlow, the cast of the
West End hit musical Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Brit Award winner Olly
Murs and the legendary Dame Edna Everage who takes a break from her farewell
tour to make a very special appearance.
More artists will be
announced nearer the time.
The star studded spectacular takes
place on 25 November and will be screened on ITV in December.
