I'm A Celebrity - Last Night... 17/11

We’ve never been so ready jungle! Its back, and with an almighty bang. Ant and Dec were on fine form from the get go and had us in fits of laughter on more than one occasion. Last nights show was watched by a record breaking audience of 12 million viewers with a peak of 12.9 million, the highest in the shows history, making it the second highest live overnight audience of the year, just behind Wimbledon.

In logical fashion we were first introduced to the first four campmates. Lucy, Alfonso, Joey and Steve were enjoying the champagne on a luxury yacht when Ant and Dec came aboard with news, great news for us viewers, but never all that great for the celebs. Split into pairs, Lucy and Alfonso – the yellow team, Steve and Joey – the red team, after launching themselves out of a helicopter (can we just all take a moment to relive Joey’s exit face) had to race across the beautiful island adding to their team at various checkpoints with other celebs before racing to a speed boat for one last night of comfort. Joey AKA Action Man, AKA Ken, gazelle jumped his way along with Steve collecting Rebecca (who like us confessed to being a bit of a Westlife fan to Kian), Amy and Laila (who was hilariously dragged along the beach by Joey) before reaching the speedboat and winning the first challenge. The yellow team added Kian (the one thing that shocked us most about the launch show as the fact Kian had tattoos, you learn something new everyday), Matthew (who was either still drunk from the night before or just generally instantly unlikable) and David (wonder if he’s missing his doves yet?), then spent a slightly less relaxing night on the island… the didn’t eve have wardrobes!

Jungle attire, check. A random clearing amongst the bush, check. Ant and Dec, check! It’s obviously bushtucker trial time! As our faces developed a grin the celebs displayed an array of excited, terrified and tear. Perfect. The turntable of terror was a great way to introduce them to jungle life and give us our first fix of celebrity tears and squirms. The yellow team were victorious securing 4 out of 5 meals as well as the luxurious (a term used fairly loosely in this instance) camp, they graciously allowed Joey to win the final head to head challenge so the losing red team got to ear, aww how nice, give it a few days without food and I doubt they’ll be as generous with their alligator sausages.

Back at their own camps the teams began to settle in, however the red team faced the difficult task of lighting a fire, after various attempts and therefore failures, things got desperate. Rebecca to the rescue with a bit of tampon burning, unconventional, but it worked! It also proved Dec with the funniest moment of the night.

First night in camp, nice and relaxed for the celebs to settle in? No such luck! One of the worst storms in the shows history hit camp with lightening, torrential rain and severe winds, oh and in Joey land, snow. Welcome to jungle life campmates!

In tonights show it’s Matthew Vs Joey in the bushtucker trial, we cannot wait!
