After the fantastic whirlwind start of the X
Factor we were really looking forward to Sunday’s show, however there wasn’t enough
auditions to make the show gripping, it didn’t feel long enough but then again
with how slow paced it was I don’t think we’d have lasted another 30 minutes. It lacked that certain spark Saturday
nights show had, perhaps it was because most of the ‘novelty’ acts had been
booted out in ‘The Room’. The Xtra Factor was far more entertaining!
From last night show we expected nothing less
from Sam Bailey than an powerful and effortless performance and oh boy did she
deliver. Sam Bailey walked onto stage to a excited judging panel Gary Barlow
"Here she comes". Sam takes on another big number (who's loving you) to
show off her big vocal range. She had Nicole crying her eyes out, the applause
of the audience is enough to spur anyone on and a standing ovation from the
crowd and judges. This one is defiantly in the running for the live shows.
Powerful and effortless. There’s no denying Sam has incredible talent and will
go far in the competition but we’re putting it out there… she won’t win.
Hannah Barrett, the girl who stole the judges
hearts last night is back to steal the hearts of the audience. Gone are her
days of selling sausage rolls. With her version of ‘One Night Only’ She
gave everyone goose bumps and sang her way through to boot camp with ease.
Then came along Alejandro Fernandez-Holt, we only
caught a short glimpse of him in Saturday’s show where he sang Pinks ‘Perfect”
and Gary remarked it was a little ‘too theatre’ for his liking. However Sunday
we were treated to a full on serving of handsome devil. He sang Enrique
Iglesias ‘Hero’, it was cheesy and we loved it, the singing in Spanish tipped
us over the edge and we were ready to start throwing underwear at the TV…
almost. Nicole predicted he’d have girls screaming in the audience and boy did
he. He even got a yes from Gary.
Jerrie and Tamera the friends torn apart by fame
before they were even famous! Jerrie flopped at the first hurdle and didn't
impress, we said on Twitter not to bother putting her through, and we were
right! (we could totally be judges). Tamera shocked the judges by forgetting
her lyrics several times but managed to pull it together at the end impressing
the judges with her rendition of a Whitney Houston classic, when she knew the
words she blew us and the audience away, leaving Louis to compare her to a
young Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke. Tamera best remember her lyrics at boot
camp to avoid getting hit with a stick by Mrs O!
Not everyone made it through to bootcamp as we
said goodbye to wannabe rockstar Fil who despite sticking on some temporary
tattoos and smashing a few glasses failed to be ‘rock enough’, Gary even showed
a hint of his inner rockstar by drenching Fil with a glass of water. Clearly
wanted to get in on the water throwing action before Sharon. Then there was Luke
who was told by the judges to come back next year as he wasn’t quite ready. We
loved Luke from his first audition and were more than a little disappointed his
rendition of ‘Get Lucky’ didn’t pull off.
Tune in next Saturday when we’re back to ‘The
Room’ to meet some more potential winners.
