After weeks of weird, wonderful and hilarious (not always for the right reasons) auditions and a week of live semi-finals we have our final 10… soon to be 11 when those secretive lot let us in on who’s the wild card. Tonight they show off their talents live in front of millions for one last time, hoping and dreaming of being crowned the winner. Here’s who will be wowing you and how we think they’ll fair when the results are in…
Richard & Adam
Two brothers from Wales with exceptional
classical voices. In the build up VT to their first audition, we admit it, we
thought they were going to be terrible, their Nan was their number one fan and
they worked in the family sandwich shop. We shouted our prediction at the TV ‘I
bet ones really good and ones terrible so Simon splits them up’ How wrong were
we! They’re handsome, they’re Royal Variety worthy talented and they’re
extremely likeable. If they pull off another spine tingling moment like their
semi-final ‘Somewhere’ performance we predict an easy top 3 finish, and
depending on the night perhaps that dreamed of top spot.
Arixsandra
11 year old girl with the voice of someone with
experiences beyond her years. She wowed the judges and the audience in her
first audition and didn’t disappoint in the live semi-final. She has the cute
factor and we feel will win votes over fellow child singer Asanda however she
may get lost amongst the stand out acts.
Luminites
This beautiful four-some has something for
everyone. They play their own instruments, they have a mesmerizing female
singer, a handsome male singer, and they rap! It’d be rude to ask for more. The
Luminites have impressed at every stage of the competition storming through
their live semi-final, if their last performance is on par what that and depending
on song choice they could definitely stake a claim for the main prize, top 5
finish regardless of what happens.
Gabz
Ever since hearing her song ‘The One’ we’ve
been unable to get it out of our heads, it’s a great original track that
everyone, regardless of musical tastes has commended. After performing the same
song at her audition and the live semi-final Gabz will have to do something
different tonight, if its as catchy as ‘The One’ she could really mix up the
top spots but its going to be tough to top. We think she’ll finish somewhere in
the middle.
Francine Lewis
Hilarious impressionist, exactly what this
show and the UK showbiz scene has been crying out for (we’ve had to make do
with John Culshaw for years) She had us laughing from the minute she began her
first audition and was even better in the live semi-final. Her impressions are
spot on, we find it helps when you can tell who the person is they’re trying to
impersonate and with one simple ‘heeyaaah’ you can! Not only does Francine
sound like her ‘victims’? she’s genuinely funny at the same time, we can’t
decide who we like best, the pricey or Cheryl?! Another performance like the
semi-final and we think Francine could take the top spot, she’s got out vote.
Pre-Skool
Child dance acts aren’t exactly new to BGT
and yes they’re cute and will initially do well, but that’s normally the end, a
final filler. However Pre-Skool managed to buck the trend and not only have
cuteness in abundance but were also pretty damn good, the faces they pull, the
moves, it just works. Easily the best group dance act in the competition this
year but unfortunately not quite on par with the more publicised acts, we’re
looking forward to seeing them and hope they finish-up somewhere in the middle.
Fingers crossed no tears.
Asanda
There’s no denying she has outstanding
talent and twitter will go crazy when she performs tonight much like it did
during her semi-final performance but do we really need an 11 year old Rihanna
on our conscience? Amongst the more popular acts we feel despite her obvious
talent she’ll finish in the lower half when the results come in.
Jordan O’Keefe
Irish, check. Handsome, check. Plays
guitar, check. Great voice, double check. He’s always going to do well, the
teenage vote is firmly all his and if his performance is similar to his ‘I will
always love you’ semi-final rendition he’ll be getting a vote from us. Twitter
is where the key to his success lies, fans flooding in every second (we even
got a cheeky follow) and they’ll definitely be sharing his all important voting
number tonight. We think he’ll definitely be a top 5 contender.
Jack Carroll
From the moment we saw him in his
pre-audition VT we knew he was going to be hilarious, a pretty good start for a
comedian. We remember Jack from his brief appearance at the Pride Of Britain
awards and he was just as funny then. His jokes aren’t to everyone’s tastes
(the ones without a sense of humour that is) but they’re original, current and
just plain funny. One of the favorites from the start of the show he’ll be
fighting for the top spot with a couple of others, top 3 finish for definite.
Attraction
We admit it, we weren’t really paying
attention when ‘the shadow act’ began their first audition but it wasn’t long
before we put down our phone and were transfixed, their ability to evoke such
emotion from an audience just through one song and some shadows is mind
blowing. Can they top their semi-final performance? We’ve heard they have a
surprise up their sleeves. If they can, they’ve won. The only way we can’t see
Attraction taking the top spot is the fact they’re not British, we say who
cares! They’re THAT good, we’ll adopt them.
The Wild Card
This has been kept a closely guarded secret
but we have a feeling it’ll be Joseph Hall, whoever it is will deserve to be in
the final, some great acts didn’t get through, but they didn’t get the public
vote the first time around, its going to take something extra special to be
considered a contender.
So there’s definitely a few who could do,
one who probably will do it and a few who will get the ‘it’s the taking part
that counts’ speech. With such strong competition we think this year will all
be down to who wows on the night, a spectacular performance could see anyone
snatch the winners title.
Tune into ITV tonight 7.30pm to see all the
finalists along with stars Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran and Psy.
