Rude boii, chicken heads
and flipper feet... a BINTM guide on how NOT to walk at a casting. Or at least
that’s what the challenge in Episode 4 felt like!
Yes, this week we join
the girls at their very first go-sees with top designers Ben de Lisi and Daniel
Lismore. When the girls discover what this week’s challenge has in store they
all agree that castings require the model to be a ‘blank canvas’. This memo
must have missed Abigail’s radar as her canvas was more neon blue than blank.
Yes, who wears a blue bra to a casting? You guessed it, Abigail! Not
surprisingly, this didn’t go unnoticed and Daniel especially was not impressed.
Things got even worse
for Abigail as she couldn’t save her fashion mishap with a good show as her
walk for Ben de Lisi was wobbly and she got a telling off (along with Angel)
for talking during Emma’s fitting. This really made me question how committed
Abigail is to the competition as she seems to take it all very light hearted
and like she’s there just for the hell of it. All of the other girls managed to
dress appropriately, but that wasn’t enough for Jess and Emily who both
struggled to impress with their walks.
Angel and a surprised
Sarah went on to win the challenge and chose Abigail and Emma to join them on
their treat... a nice meal out while the others at home moaned about Angel.
Jealous maybe girls? Both Angel and Sarah did walk well so deserved the treat,
but I really wish Sarah would have more confidence in herself. Her lack of self
belief and her being forever on the edge of tears is off-putting to say the
least, which is a shame as she is quite a natural at this modelling thing.
The photo shoot this
week took the girls to the beach! Fun, right? Um, no. This was a British beach,
which means cold temperatures and more soggy sand than sea. So naturally this
just screams ‘topless shoot’, right? To make up for the British attempt at a
beach, judge Dannii Minogue brings in the male models who send the girls into a
tizz, especially Laura who I was sure was about to pounce on her partner
through excitement.
Some girls rose to the
challenge of being topless but sultry, it was like they’d spent their entire
lives forgetting to dress the top half of their bodies. Others, such as Jess,
just didn’t appear comfortable being so exposed and showed no chemistry with
the male model. This was a tough brief for the girls as it really depended on
having that body confidence and self belief that many of girls just haven’t
mastered yet.
Naomi clearly does not
have a problem in this department as her photo came out on top and she won
picture of the week. Angel, Emma, Laura, Lauren all owned their shots, but
Abigail, Holly, Sophie and Jess failed to hit the mark and ended up in the
bottom four. Despite Abigail’s terrible go-see experience, her photo was deemed
good enough to see her through to another week and Jess was sent home... crazy
hair and all. I was shocked to see the departure of Jess as I thought she still
had something to give and Abigail’s attitude had me convinced she was the one
to go! Maybe Abigail just needs more experience... I wait in bated breath to
find out!
