Scott & Bailey return to our screens tonight
for the first in a series of 8 brand new episodes. This series will test their
relationship like never before as they both seek the same promotion!
Things have certainly changed since we last saw
Syndicate 9. There are some new faces around the office; one in particular that
catches the eye of Janet who finds herself ready to resurrect her romantic
life. Rachel is completely Sean free and is ready for a new challenge by
finally sitting her Sergeants exam. D.C.I Gill Murray appears unchanged by her
traumatic time at the end of series 3 but appearances can be deceiving.
Some things never change though. The storylines
are still as dramatic, gripping and realistic as ever. Amelia Bullmore is just
as charismatically wonderful and we’ll still be hooked from start to finish.
Danny Miller is also back as Sergeant Rob
Waddington, but unfortunately not for the whole series as it’s his job that’s
up for grabs. There’s one final case for Rob to solve though…
Episode One focuses on the
kidnap and murder of a vulnerable young adult, Robin McKendrick. When he doesn’t
turn up for work, his ex-copper landlord alerts the police. With a brother
involved in local gang rivalry, there’s a chance that Robin has been caught up
in some sort of reprisal. A photo of Robin, bound and gagged in the boot of a
car, shows up on Facebook and Syndicate 9 know that he’s probably already dead.
But the body they recover from a flooded quarry is a woman.
Produced by Red Production Company the show has
become one of ITV’s most enduring and successful returning series. Viewing
figures have increased show-by-show, series-by-series and that’s a credit to
the continuing engrossing drama, talented cast and spot on production.
