It was back to school for the Britain
& Ireland’s Next Top Model hopefuls
this week. Well, that’s if your school made you wear pink blazers, answer
questions about fashion and the legendary style-guru Hilary Alexander was your
head teacher. The girls were put to the test and quizzed in teams of two on
their fashion knowledge, or rather their lack of! Sophie and Naomi went to the
top of the class thanks to their knowledge of David Beckham’s pants (H&M if
you didn’t already know), whilst Emma & Saffron’s knowledge turned out to
be more Primark standard than Prada.
A celebratory high-five secured
Sophie and Naomi’s win and their prize saw them hanging out with some old BINTM
favourites including past winners of the show, Jade and Leticia. We were
treated to some footage of the girls having a giggle but it all seemed very PG.
However, thanks to some Twitter ‘research’ it turns out the occasion was much
merrier than we viewers were led to believe and a lot of the footage from the
model party bus got left on the cutting room floor. Sob! It would have been
nice to have seen the girls living it up a little after all the cat-fights back
at the house.
The party didn’t last long for
Naomi and Sophie as they, and the rest of the remaining girls, learnt they
would be facing their fears in the next photo-shoot. To be more precise, they
were to face one big fear: snakes. Eek! Surprise, surprise this turns out to be
another massive fear of Sarah’s and once again viewers were left biting their
nails over her participation in the shoot. However, just like the underwater
task we needn’t have worried as Sarah pulled it out of the bag once again and
faced a fear that would see most of us cowering in the corner. Good on ya’
girl!
Emma found herself more scared
than she thought she would be and Saffron made a life-long bond with her snake
as it got a little over excited and dribbled all over her, her beautiful dress
and the shot. Surely such a traumatic experience deserved photo of the week?
Hmm, maybe not, as snake-spit or no snake-spit Saffron was eliminated from the
competition whilst best friend Holly narrowly slithered free to see another
week in the model house. Angel proved the true snake charmer of the bunch,
winning photo of the week.
This week I completely agreed
with the judges as they debated over Saffron. Yes, she is a beautiful girl, but
is she a model? For me, she isn’t, but she was a great personality in the
competition and I give her full credit for putting up with a grumpy pig and
snake-spit, and still managing to look absolutely stunning.
In the next episode Elle has a
big surprise in-store for the girls, involving passports! We all know what that
means! Travel time! (That’s not time-travel folks, don’t get too excited. This
isn’t Doctor Who’s Next Top Model!). However, without Saffron still around to
back her up, will we see more hissy fits from Holly? Or will Saffron’s exit
change relationships in the house as Holly is forced to buddy-up with the other
remaining girls? Only time will tell...
